Fall Semester's Fall
03:17
|
|||
Everything I've learned and everything I've done
Is all from what I've heard here under the sun
It's all just pointless words in sentence structuring
That tells me something I won't ever need
I try to get my heart aligned with something new
I tell you that I try, you'll tell me I'm untrue
I figure out a way to win you back to me
You know it's all a game, you'll forget about me
But right about now, I don't mind at all
'Cause it's the young age where we all will fall
We know it's a game, we'll forget about fall semester's fall
I have a reason to love and a reason to choose
I think that my hazy days have made me abused
How 'bout I sail away and lose
My things and my mind and my heart and even my shoes
'Cause the only good I'll do there is be not with you
But the bad that will come will only come true
Since your last letter of your last name
Can only be traced by your father's point of view
Waste away someone else's day
You forget and you lie and you tease and you play
With other people's heads because you only see
The bad side of their beds when you stay, not when you leave
Everything in time will just fall apart
But then if we try, we'll stitch a new start
We're just so naive, we just can't believe
That we'll turn into something we never wanted to be
You'll find me at the fest, caught up in it all
Refusing all the tests, soaking in it all
But we know time will pass, it can't go on and on
That's when we'll forget about fall semester's fall

Caught Down By the Road
03:54
|

Caught down by the road
Where the fork splits and explodes
And you carry your load
You hold on for a while
And I think you know more than you think you do
'Cause I see, I see, I see, I see you
And I can tell something's bothering you
'Cause I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel for you
Brought up by your folks
They tell you stories of roads
They tell you which path to go
They raise you for a while
And you leave their rule
To a post-secondary school
You practice different rituals
You think more for a while
Then you return home
They ask you which way you'd go
You say you'd try every road
You don't speak for a while
So the story goes
The start of a broken home
Where she would split, and he, explode
You don't come for a while
So the story goes...
On and on...

Ann, Scaifed (Live)

I tried to sink my hand but then the fire in your eyes
Retracted my plan; you tease, you lie
And you changed your clothes; assumed my desires
I assumed your past foes and you assumed your past styles
Then I saw your stare, as if it's our final fare
This is too quick too end, I don't wanna be just your friend
I don't want to be your friend
We were at the point when in fall, breezy air
Sin attracted sin in the blink of a stare
Our phones depicted discomfort in our hands
Near to each other, we could hardly stand
So close yet hard to reach
but then we met, too hard, need sleep
And you admitted on such bad names
You agreed without your digital frame
And I came, and with what became of you
Wasn't from inside of you
It came from what you would do
Proceeding the moves of your tests, of your grooves
I wished to just go away, drunk's not you
"Fill this up then I will move"
No it's not a need, it's all just too soon
It is all just too soon
So I'll find all I've been searching for
But I'll lose all I've been standing for

It's too cold to cry down by the river
And it's too late to find what you remember
You're here and well but you're there as well
And you've cladded your heart 'til it billows and swells
Just don't break down
It hurts your thoughts and infuses late night blues
Fears, bad dreams, and memories all on cue
Your age is here, applause is near
Braid love like your hair until it adheres
Just don't break down
It's too cold to cry down by the river
Stay inside until I make it over
I'll be a soul to fill the room
For you, your roommates, and perfume
We can both break down
Hocking's calling, please don't pick up the phone
Your conversing subconscious will never be postponed
Believe in you, read your tattoos
Stumbling through the bricks, and bruise
Your way down
And we'll try to make some sense of all these lies
We'll flip back to where those thoughts were personified
It's too cold to cry down by the river
Stay inside until I make it over
We can both break down

I Know You / I Read You
04:37
|

Satin-sitting, bending-backs in night
Our hearts leave work, your eyes will stray my mind
They dawn on corners of your bedroom walls
They drill deep for answers justifying law
You're crying while comin' down
Your hair's in your face and your eyes are watering now
Your nerves will fail, you don't do well in crowds
But they won't tear you down
Realize your mind 'cause you're just on the prowl
Wait your turn and take what you're allowed
I love your sense of losing all control
Crazy spirits left you on your floor
And time will only feed you angst and cries
But quit you won't, you'll never compromise
And your feelings have not yet been overthrown
You're your own pioneer and this you'll always condone
You're crying while comin' down
Your hair's in your face and your eyes are watering now
Your nerves will fail, you don't do well in crowds
But they won't tear you down
I know, I know, I know, I know you
'Cause I read, and read, and read, and read you...
